January & February is the time to get CWS Migratory Bird Permit
If you've had a bird control problem in the past, it is imperative to get your permit before the problem reoccurs in the spring. This will allow us to provide a solution before breeding and nesting season is in full swing and before there is an abundance of nests and eggs on your property in addition to property damage. If you wait until you see a problem to apply for your permit, this can cause a delay in the CWS process, and often results in more work, more expense, and more damage.
The Canadian Wildlife Service (CWS) continues to process permit applications through the regular channels during the COVID-19 outbreak, however there may be delays in obtaining a decision.
Permits may be issued under the Migratory Birds Regulations with conditions for the husbandry, release, scaring, capture, killing or disposal of migratory birds, or any other matter concerning the conservation of migratory birds.
